"Microsoft" folder popup. - Every time I start Internet Explorer 8

Every time I start IE8, a Microsoft folder pops up.
How can I stop this please?

Gad.   What a pile of stuff.   Have you tried using  msconfig.exe  to selectively disable ones which involve  System32?    E.g.
why are there so many  ctfmon.exe  entries?   What is  dumprep.exe?   (Neither sound essential to me.)
